General wellness
Eatlog is a food and weight log for adults, not a medical device. Nutrition values, targets, trends, food database entries, and AI estimates may be incomplete or wrong. Review entries and consult a qualified health professional for medical decisions.
Free software and optional purchase
Eatlog is free and open source under the 0BSD license. Local logging, saved meals, diary, analytics, adaptive recommendations, Health Connect where available, backup, export, and sharing require no purchase or API key. The license covers the app source. It does not grant access to Eatlog's hosted AI service or its provider credentials.
You can use your own Google AI key for direct estimates. This is a setting, not a plan. Eatlog does not charge for this route. Google's eligibility, regional availability, quotas, billing, and data terms apply to your Google project. Free Google usage is not guaranteed. Google's terms, billing guide, and rate limits provide current details.
Eatlog Omelette is an optional one-time, non-renewing purchase of Eatlog-hosted AI access without needing your key. The store shows the final localized price before purchase. Hosted access remains subject to fair use, service availability, and store refund or revocation. A one-time purchase does not promise infinite AI operations or perpetual operation of Google or other third-party services. You can still use your own key after buying Omelette.
Legacy subscription customers retain their verified access while their entitlement remains valid. Existing subscriptions can be managed through the platform store. New public sales use the one-time Omelette purchase. Purchases and restores use the same platform and store account. Refunds follow the store's rules. Complimentary access creates no store subscription and follows its verified grant.
Hosted AI fair use
Eatlog AI currently allows 30 combined photo, description, meal re-estimate, and component re-estimate operations in a rolling 24-hour window and 250 in a rolling 30-day window. The Worker can reject a request before sending it to Google when a limit is reached. After five recent provider responses that found no food within a rolling 24-hour window, it can temporarily reject more such attempts. Provider outages do not count toward that rejected-food ceiling. These limits apply only to Eatlog AI; Google sets separate limits for estimates sent with your own key.
Eatlog may revise hosted limits to protect service availability and cost, with updated terms and store disclosure where required. The selected photo or text leaves the device only when you request an online estimate and accept the consent for that route. Declining or withdrawing consent leaves local Eatlog features available and does not cancel a purchase.
Your data and service availability
Your local food, weight, target, photo, and adaptive records remain on the device after a subscription expires or hosted purchase access is refunded or revoked. Entitlements, grants, and hosted quota history are not included in app backups or CSV exports. Keep a separate backup of data you need.
Online estimates, Google Gemini, food databases, RevenueCat, store services, and Eatlog's Worker can be unavailable. Local logging remains usable during those outages. Eatlog does not promise uninterrupted hosted service or the continued availability of a third-party provider.
